Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is the manipulation of soft tissues to help speed up the body’s healing processes. A typical consultation consists of assessment, analysis and treatment.
The targeted massage of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues is most commonly used for the treatment of pain and injuries, and as a form of rehabilitation. The process stimulates blood flow (allowing for the removal of toxins from muscles), calms the peripheral nervous system (easing pain and discomfort), and tones and relaxes muscles to improve joint mobility. Remedial Massage enables faster recovery, aiding the repair of damaged tissues.
Remedial Massage assists in the alleviation of the following muscular and skeletal dysfunctions: muscle tightness and pain, arthritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, whiplash, neck and back pain, scoliosis, headaches and sports (or everyday) injuries.
Remedial Massage can also be utilised as a preventative treatment.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a form of bodywork, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), designed to promote and maintain the body’s natural balance. During Shiatsu, pressure is applied to points and energy pathways using fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows or feet. Shiatsu improves circulation and supports the body’s natural energy flow, contributing to healing. Gentle stretches and limb rotation are used to help free joints and release muscle tension. Other techniques, such as cupping, may be used to assist in releasing or nourishing areas of the body.
Shiatsu promotes the body’s healing and can alleviate issues arising from:
Stress/anxiety, depression and fatigue
Back, neck and shoulder pain
Headaches and migraine
Joint pain and reduced mobility
Digestive and respiratory problems
Menstrual problems and PMT
